Healing in Nature: Outdoor Acupuncture
On Tuesday, September 17th, we had the pleasure of hosting a truly special event, highlighting our Elder Explorers program: Outdoor Acupuncture at the beautiful Ebbets Field Community Garden. Led by the highly skilled Dr. Mona Eladhry of Body Politic Acupuncture, this event brought together elders from our community to experience the healing and restorative powers of acupuncture in a serene, natural setting.
As guests arrived, the garden created an immediate sense of calm, setting the perfect atmosphere for an afternoon of relaxation and wellness. Dr. Eladhry began with each participant sharing the benefits of acupuncture, emphasizing how it supports balance and promotes overall well-being, especially in older adults. The participants were seated in comfortable chairs, with each receiving personalized attention from Dr. Mona.
Throughout the two hour session, participants embraced the soothing energy of the garden while connecting with nature and each other. Some shared personal stories, while others quietly reflected, enjoying the peaceful ambiance. The communal experience was profound—an opportunity not only to focus on physical health by also to foster emotional and social well-being.
The event was part of our ongoing commitment to providing inclusive, holistic wellness experience for groups underrepresented in the outdoors. We are grateful to everyone who made this day possible, including Ebbets Field Community Garden for hosting us.
Outdoor Acupuncture was an empowering experience for all involved, and we are excited to continue offering meaningful programs like this through the Elder Explorers program. Stay tuned for more events designed to bring wellness, community, and the healing power of nature to all!
